My name is Alex Mehlhopt, owner of Bayrise Builders. Let me tell you a bit about the journey that has led me here today.

I began building as an apprentice in Christchurch, working on new builds as well as residential. About 5 years into my building career, my wife and I moved to the beautiful Bay of Plenty for a lifestyle best suited to our values and interests. When I’ve got time off the tools, I enjoy spending time with my family. We have a one year-old son called Wesley and a couple of well-loved fur babies.

Having gained much experience in both residential and commercial building and working as a site foreman for several years, I decided it was time to get back to my passion of residential building and renovating - so became Bayrise Builders! I now have over 10 years building experience but I love to challenge myself and am constantly learning new skills within and beyond carpentry.

Our set of knowledge and skills, mixed with our dedication to high quality workmanship and attention to detail, will leave you in safe hands for a job beautifully done.

At Bayrise Builders, we always strive to work efficiently and communicate effectively. We are happy to provide guidance and advice throughout the planning and building process - each project is unique to the client and our craftsmanship will express this.
